How We Build a Stamped Patio
1. Layout and grade
We lay out the shape on the ground so you can walk it and check it against your furniture, your door swings and your sight lines. Then we set the fall — usually about a quarter inch per foot away from the house — because a patio that drains toward your foundation is a much more expensive problem than the patio itself.
2. Base
Excavate, bring in crushed stone, compact in lifts. On Foothills clay this is not optional. A stamped patio is a rigid slab; if the ground beneath it moves, the pattern cracks and there is no discreet way to repair it.
3. Pour, colour and stamping
We place and screed, then apply colour. 4. Detailing, joints and sealing
